Literature Text

Sometimes fears plague our every waking moment. Sometimes indecisions overpower all the dedication we’ve spent on our projects. Sometimes it seems the whole world only houses cruel, unfeeling people. But that’s only one part of the story- and we should always be careful of the one story. We often look over the happiness in our lives- in little bursts of sunshine that resonate from carefree smiles and reassuring shoulders. We don’t take into account the goals we’ve managed to accomplish and we don’t place them on pedestals for everyone else to admire. Moreover, we often fail to understand that there is good in this world; perhaps even more good than bad. Even when everything seems to fall apart at its seams and we believe in the utter helplessness of our current state, we fail to understand that anyone can make a difference. Oftentimes, we believe it takes millions of people to make a single change in the world (or maybe just one person- but that’d take a person greater than us) but we don’t ask ourselves this question: How is greatness defined? How can someone achieve greatness if all they've ever done in their life is ponder who they could’ve been? Why can't I take the first step? Yes, teamwork is an important factor in a thriving society, but so is the individual goal of turning the world into a better place.
In truth, it’s how we see the world and how we perceive its inner workings that define us and our actions as a whole. The world can never be completely rid of evils lurking beneath the depths, but perhaps we can subdue them and make those hulking objects into shadows- then smaller and smaller until they merely are figments of our imaginations.
Something I wrote a while back. xD I was going through my documents and thought this was pretty decent. Hope you guys like it! ^^

Not enough people write nonfiction nowadays. Thank you for doing so!
